Based in Seattle, WA, Lake Lewis (Assoc. AIA) holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture degree with a Minor in Photography from Carnegie Mellon University. He has been named a DiversifyPhoto UpNext Photographer, and featured in Architectural Record, Pittsburgh City Paper, The Weather Channel, and various social media channels of Carnegie Mellon University
With projects such as "Home & America" and "Polar Perspectives", Lake is determined to understand the relationships between a community and its built environment. All mediums are fair game, and he has undertaken various projects in architectural design, video, film & digital photography- exploring these spatial dynamics across the United States and abroad. He has worked with a range of organizations, from Seattle to Tempe to Pittsburgh- focusing on mobility, sustainable missing middle development, and equitable design. Photography allows Lake to capture stories of various beings; living, built, and everything in between. Recognizing these perspectives is crucial to producing effective architecture. Agency, community, access, and wellness are foundational values that guide his problem-solving approach. Through his work, Lake hopes to contribute positive change to the ever-dynamic world around him.

“A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. It is, in a word, effective.” - Irving Penn
