The photos allow one to enter and explore spaces that the infrastructure restricts. Space is created by shadow, color, and various other attributes of the image that one observes- but defined by the infrastructure that holds and divides it. When I captured these, I move throughout the cityscape as the sidewalk guides. However- sometimes my desire for destination leads me elsewhere, and I am able to recreate the crossroads that one is faced with when the infrastructure tries to say no. Sometimes it is successful in blocking my path. Sometimes not.
