On April 30th, 2024, Zionists attending a pro-Israel rally clashed with pro-Palestine student protesters outside Kaplan and Royce Hall, near the UCLA Student Solidarity Encampment. Previously occupied by student organizers, the camp was raided early Thursday morning by the LAPD. Over 100 students and protesters were arrested, with multiple injuries reported by @sjpatucla on Instagram.
*As a personal anecdote- this was the first time in my four years of covering protests that I was harassed multiple times for taking photos. Multiple attempts were made to restrict me from taking photos by counter protesters.
